9 Street Fashion Photographers to Follow For Fashion Weeks

Blessed with a real life fashion week this time around, we are keeping our eyes peeled for more fashion in the action on the streets of Paris. Couture Fashion Week FW21 has commenced and we are ready to see editors, influencers alike out in the open serving looks against the backdrop of the ultimate fashion capital. Here are a list of nine street fashion photographers we are following for endless street style inspirations and the BTS of the glamours Fashion Weeks.

Acielle | @styledumonde

If you have been an avid Vogue reader then you probably already know Acielle by her photo contributions. One of the most in-demand street style photographers, the Kazakhstani artist travelled around the world more than 15 times a year to photograph the main Fashion Weeks in Paris, Milan, London and New York pre-pandemic. Lively, authentic and colourful photos with an ever-so-slight blue tint are of Acielle's signature street style photos.

Darrel Hunter | @modehunter

A London-born photographer and ex-finance worker, Darrel Hunter has a keen eye for creative looks that blurs femininity and masculinity. Although he's a frequent Fashion Weeks goer, his photos expands beyond fashion and stretches into beauty, activism, travel and reportage.

Tommy Ton | @tommyton

Perhaps best known for his street style blog Jak & Jil, Canadian photographer, and creative director, Tommy Ton's excellent eye for fashion is something that has been in training since the age of 15. He was offered opportunities to shoot a Lane Crawford campaign which turned out to be a big photographic break for Ton. He was later appointed to take over from Scott Schuman (another great fashion photographer), covering fashion week street style for Style.com. Capturing great styles with even better composition, Ton's photos document the great modern street fashion of both mens and womenswear.

Shoichi Aoki | @aoki_street.1985

A renowned Japanese photographer and creator of several popular magazines including STREET, TUNE and FRUiTS Magazine, Shoichi Aokis is most known for his documentation of the kaleidoscopic Tokyo street fashion. Unlike most western photographers, his lens is gravitated towards the brightest and the most outlandish of fashion -- photographing not only models but also ordinary fashionable people. He's constantly on the look out for creative looks not only during Fashion Weeks but also during the most mundane days and weeks.

Sandra Semburg | @sandrasemburg

Another frequent Vogue Contributor, Semburg is based in Paris and Berlin. Semburg has been capturing the major Fashion Weeks in Milan, Paris, New York, London as well as Copenhagen Fashion Weeks. Known for her keen eye for details, many of her detailed shoots have made appearances on various fashion online platforms and documented cult items of different seasons. Her extensive work, dating back to as far as 2011, has all been documented on her website.

Paul Won Jeong | @pavelnupaul

A native Seoulite and an international photographer, Paul Won Jeong breathes fresh air into street fashion photography. Atmospheric and with great compositions, his street style photos are not just a documentation of good style but also the spontaneous energy of the subject(s). Follow Jeong not just for his fashion captures but also a unique style of storytelling.

Jonathon Daniel Pryce | @garonjon

Before making a name for himself in the world of fashion, Pryce studied photography and was fascinated and inspired by Messrs Mario Testino, Nick Knight and David Bailey. Capturing fashion and the streets in a candid and natural way, Pryce has fully embraced the immediacy of street fashion photography. In turn, his work was much appreciated and frequently published by Vogue, GQ and Esquire. Working a few months a year away from London to travel to various Fashion capitals for the major Fashion Weeks, he spends the rest of the year developing concepts and working with models.

Clean, minimalistic, Søren Jepson's photos are exactly what you'd expect from a Danish photographer in the best way possible. Not just a great style photographer, Jepson carefully evaluates her photos to compile the most popular trends from each show on her portfolio/site. Phil Oh | @mrstreetpeeper

A veteran street style photographer who shouldn't need an introduction by now. Vouching for and documenting the world's "non-conformists", Oh has made a name for himself as one of Vogue's most treasured street style photographers. He has been in the scene since 2006 when he started his street fashion photography blog Street Peeper -- trotting all over the globe since then which was an unusual thing for street style photographers to do at the time, like The Sartorialist or Scott Schuman who mostly stayed in the same city at the time. Oh's street fashion pictures have always been used side by side with trend stories, showcasing the best styles of the season.
