What's Hot This Summer
by Marga Cheng on Jul 20, 2022
In the heat of the season, we are all ecstatic to be out and about, as some of us are starting to travel again, grooving ourselves back to a somewhat normal, almost post-pandemic lifestyle. Cult brands are blossoming over each other with their vibrant summer collection. As the scorching heat has just begun, we're switching up from cute cardigans to what's hot this summer.
We’ve gathered our favorite Summer trends. Check them out below!
Platforms For All
All kinds of platforms are in right now. Stompy flats are a more wearable item to look taller, without the pain. They are also the perfect piece to wear for a busy day, you can dress them down for some errands and then dress them up to head over to a party.
|DRIES VAN NOTEN
Y2K is here to stay a bit longer. Take on this trend with a bit of reminiscence, throwing it back to some early queens - think Regina George from Mean Girls or Britney Spears. This trend is all about cute mini-skirts and hip-hugging bottoms so be sure to pick up a pair of low-slung cargo pants or jeans.
Big Brand Bags
Top-tier luxury brands have taken center stage over the last few years. Monograms are louder than ever, taking form in different silhouettes and fabrics. Whether they are maxi bags or tiny crossbody pieces, logo bags are key pieces for any summer outfit.
That (School) Girl Aesthetic
It’s ironic, but designers and fashion icons alike are all about this trend right now. It’s a balance of preppy and stylish. Going back to the idea of having a uniform, this trend brings us back to the era of preppy penny loafers and pleated skirts. If you’re feeling more sporty, chanel that track-and-field gym class look with some rugby shirts and sneakers.
It’s always nice to be perfectly matched. Co-ords are essential if you love looking put together, minus having to worry about mixing and matching different prints and colors. They are basically tracksuits but a lot put together!
Bigger Badder Blazers
Large blazers have been around for a couple seasons, but this season, blazers are getting more and more dramatic. From even longer sleeves to more dominant shoulder pads, you’ll most definitely find a piece that matches your style while remaining timeless and extremely versatile. To pull off this trend over the summer, don’t be afraid to be a little bit more risqué and pair your blazers with a cute pair of shorts and crop top - keep it casual and chic!
