How to Merge Festive Items into your Daily Looks

by HULA Marketing on Dec 12, 2022

When it comes to festive seasons, it’s best to look for pieces that are eye-catching and colourful. Sequins, rhinestones, fringes or feathers are some materials which give out strong holiday vibes, but can also be merged into our daily outfits to give it an extra spark!

Follow, fashion influencer and stylist, Bebe Mak's styling guide to creating perfectly balanced outfits with some of her favourite “festive" pieces. Learn how to easily mix and match these pieces into your daily outfits.

Dress It Down

Pair your festive pieces with some denim

For all colourful and embellished tops, you can always dress it down with jeans. It makes the entire outfit look more casual and laidback. The most important part is to carefully choose the styles, colours and materials of each item. Heres an example for you:

Bebe suggests pairing an embellished knit jacket from St. John with a white hight waist straight leg denim to make it look visibly chill yet trendy. Unbuttoning the jacket and layering it with a white vest helps balance the outfit out!

Throw on some neutral pieces with louder prints

Sequinned maxi dresses are the key to looking glam and sexy at all kinds of festive parties! Never be scared to also wear them on a daily basis, you could definitely layer it up with neutral pieces to tone down it’s loudness! Take a look at the example below:

You could layer a sequinned dress below a black belted trench coat, subtly revealing the gold inside out. Touch up the outfit with a pair of knee length beige coloured boots to make it look chic!

A delicate top with structured A-lined skirt, paired with a pair of pointed heels is my usual outfit in a festive party. To tone down this elegant grand look, we can simply change the heels to pair of loafers with socks. Let’s take a look at the example below :
