With bars recently opening up (amidst the need for a Rapid Antigen Test upon entry), we've copiled our favourite bars as of 2022 and what to wear to them. It's been a tough couple of months for the Food & Beverage industry, so we would love to give them a shoutout for all their hardwork. Be sure to save these drinking destinations for your next night out!

Quinary

If you’ve been around Hong Kong’s bar scene, we’re almost certain that you’ve heard of Quinary and their legendary bartender, Antonio Lai. Quinary gets its popularity for a good reason, serving drinks which not only provide excellent and exciting flavors, but also close attention to aesthetics and exceptional service. The bar is known for introducing the concept of ‘molecular mixology’ to Hong Kong. Quinary recently celebrated their 10th year anniversary by serving their signature molecular drink, the Earl Grey Caviar Martini, at 10 different bars around Hong Kong. Be sure to check out their Instagram or Facebook to keep up with all their different collaborations and seasonal surprises!

Don't forget to drop by Hula before a drink! We're right beside Quinary along Hollywood Rd.

Our Favourite Drink:  Hung Zou (紅棗) - A drink perfect for the fall, served in a Chinese tea cup

Barcode

Tucked behind the Barcode coffee shop along Glenealy in Central, you’ll find a hidden room perfect for some afterwork drinks. Hailing from another great bartender and co-founder of Tell Camellia (another bar on our list) Gagan Gurung, Barcode serves a mix of classic cocktails and signature cocktails which infuse coffee and are designed to be paired with their different desserts. The bar is small, but it’s the perfect opportunity for you to get to know some of the friendly bartenders behind the drinks. They also released a couple of new cocktails, which are most definitely worth trying!

Our Favourite Drink: Peanut Butter Whiskey Sour - It’s not coffee infused, but if you’re a fan of peanut butter, this is your go to drink!

Dr. Fern's Gin Parlour

Another bar that’s been around for a while is Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour. If you haven’t guessed it from the name, the bar is designed to seem like a health clinic, which serves all things gin to cure your aches and pains - Bartenders are even dressed in medical gowns! The bar is said to serve more than 250 premium gins, which allows customers to craft their own ‘remedy’, if nothing on the menu suits your taste. With that many types of gin, we are sure that you’ll find one that you like, even if you aren’t too much of a gin lover. Don’t forget to snap an iconic picture outside their front door, it’s a popular Instagram spot and the perfect place to showcase your outfit.

Our Favourite Drink: The Porcelain Mandarin - with one sip you'll taste the mix of citrus, cardamon and piquant Sichuan peppercorn

Argo

Located in Four Seasons’, Argo is designed like no other bar on this list. Its brighter, well-lit atmosphere matches the staff’s excellent service and spotlights their amazing cocktails. As a newcomer to the bar scene, this bar wasted no time in becoming one of the most popular drinking destinations around town - but for a good reason. For spirit lovers, Argo is the perfect place to try all new kinds of alcohol with their ‘Field Guide to the world’s Innovative Spirits’. If you’re looking for cocktails, they also have their ‘Here Today, Gone Tomorrow’ cocktail menu, which is unique due to its celebration of different ingredients which are at risk of being endangered. The bar makes sure to source their ingredients from sustainable local and non-local suppliers and we love that!

Our Favourite Drink: Single Origin Negroni, but if you’re not a fan of negronis, try their Skynet Old Fashioned

Tell Camellia

Tell Camellia has gotten great tea-cocktails down to the T! Nestled underneath H Code, this bar has a superb menu filled with tea inspired cocktails. Each drink packs a punch of well-mixed flavours and if you’re not too sure what to get, ask the bartender to whip you up something, you won’t be disappointed. They also just recently launched a couple of new drinks for the summer, one of our favourites is ‘Mint My Man’ - it’s refreshing and IG-worthy! If you’re looking for a more mellow vibe, but would still like to drink your heart away on a Friday or Saturday night, Tell Camellia is the place to be!

Our Favourite Drink: Tall Pine - It’s a customer favourite for a reason you have to find out for yourself!

The Old Man

Down some small steps along Aberdeen street, you’ll find The Old Man. Nearing their 5th Anniversary, the bar has gone through 4 different menus. Their most recent one has captured the hearts of adventurous drinkers with drinks that are constantly being lit on fire or flying away in the form of bubbles. One thing that has remained the same throughout the years, however, is the bar’s homage to Ernest Hemingway and his many books. If you ask any of their bartenders, they’ll explain how each drink is inspired by the writer. At the moment, they even have an ongoing collaboration with Johnnie Walker, so you might be welcomed with a huge installation at the entrance of the bar!

Our Favourite Drink: The Lost Generation because of it’s sweet Crème Brûlée foam
