Sena Wakabayashi is someone who knows aesthetics; whether it be creative direction, interiors or her own personal style – she has the sharpest eye for detail. Some might argue that it is one of the most desired traits of being Japanese, however Sena has a mixed bag of influences as she grew up in the states and came to Hong Kong to start her own creative agency. Since then she has moved into the realm of styling and personal shopping – an act she feels so passionate about and when you meet her you’ll understand the qualities it takes to be as astute as her when it comes to anything stylish!
What are you working on at the moment?
I am currently working on an easier way to style people in different countries without having to constantly fly around the world. So I am working on partnerships with luxury hotels that help to make the experience seamless and just as enjoyable.
What do you love about what you do?
I love style – in any shape or form. So to be able to work with people on developing their own unique individual style is so rewarding.
What is the craziest or funniest thing you ever wore?
I think generally speaking, my entire teenage life at a waspy American boarding school was a seriously hysterical style-discovery. I looked like an Easter egg for 4 years (think preppy, pastel cable-knit sweaters…)
What is a fashion no-no?
Trendy items that completely mismatch with your personality. I don’t care how trendy it is – if it is not you, it will look bad no matter how hard you try.
