Our top wedding dresses for the bride, the mother and the guest

by HULA , July 25, 2019

Don’t you just love being invited to a wedding?! That excitement when you pop open up that crisp envelope (even if it’s digitally!). There are so many wedding destinations nowadays and most of us are fortunate enough to be able to jump on a plane and be somewhere else for the weekend. At HULA, we are often helping women find that ultimate wedding dress; whether you are a guest, the mother of the bride or looking for the ultimate rehearsal dress. No matter which table you are seated at, we want you to look your best.

REHEARSAL DINNER

Need something amazing that isn’t going to outshine your wedding dress for your rehearsal dinner? Choose these three options for something special that you can wear again to someone else’s wedding!

MOTHER OF THE BRIDE

Your proud moment as the mother of the bride! Cherish those photos that you will share with your grandchildren. Wear something colourful and elegant. There are a couple of full-sleeve options for those who have shy arms.

EASTERN PROMISE

Invited to a wedding with a bit of, or a lot of bling? Choose something with colour or full-on embellishment and oh yeah you gotta have some metallic going on – otherwise you’ll be the only wallflower without.

CITY SLICKERS

You know the sky’s the limit when you are sipping cocktails on a rooftop bar in the city – think Rachel from Suits. Wear something elegant, that shows a little skin. A dress that can take you from pre-dinner cocktails, right through to that dance floor.

ALFRESCO SUMMER

What’s a wedding without flowers?! You can either take the bohemian route with this gorgeous silk Emilio Pucci maxi if its a beach wedding or be big ‘n’ bold with something more floral for a garden party. Either way you will look blooming marvellous.

BLACK TIE

If you have a  black tie dress code on that invite, maybe try to stay away from black for a change and try to wear something with colour (red-tones are always a winner)! Here are three dresses to make sure you look elegant without outshining the bride.

CHINESE WEDDING

Of course being in Asia, we can’t forget the Chinese wedding – usually held in top hotels with a full-on fifteen-course banquet, paired with emcee-led entertainment all night. Wear a modest lacy or silk pencil dress, with a touch of Chinoise styling.

THE BRIDE TO BE

Looking for something that isn’t a typical wedding dress? Choosing a red carpet gown instead, is like saying ‘no’ to a Tiffany ring. The best thing is, you can wear the dress to another occasion one day, if you wanted to give it a second chance.
