Halloween Costumes That You Will Actually Want to Keep

by HULA , October 18, 2019

Halloween comes round once a year and it can be a hair-raising experience trying to figure out what to wear, especially if you are trying to be less wasteful. Most of us opt out of dressing up and stay huddled in front of a scary movie. Sounds boring? So why not curate a costume with pieces that can stay in your closet after the festivities is over? It is a more sustainable way to dress up, while also adding value (and possibly some oomph!) to your closet. Here are some costume-party-worthy outfit ideas below:

1. Stila 2. Natasha Denona 3. Lanvin 4. Clara Kasavina 5. Gianvito Rossi 6. Ralph Lauren

Transform into the sultry Queen of the Nile with this gold Ralph Lauren gown and goddess worthy accessories. The crocodile embossment of the clutch as well as the feather inspired heels are inspired by Egypt as the Lanvin ring belongs only on the finger of a queen. A simple blue eyeshadow look with bold, graphic liner will create the iconic makeup look that Cleopatra is known for.

Edward Scissorhands

1. Kat Von D 2. Sergio Rossi 3. Joomi Lim 4. Hermès 5. Dolce and Gabbana 6. Zana Bayne 7. Versace

This Tim Burton inspired look is elevated with Versace. The Zana Bayne harness mirrors that of the Halloween look that Lady Gaga (in the image) wore. The sexy leather and hard-wear look is finished off with Kat Von D’s pure white concealer to give the Edward complexion.

Jessica Rabbit

1. Ciaté London 2. Calvin Klein 3. Ciaté London 4. Christian Louboutin 5. Christian Louboutin

This iconic cartoon character was given new life when Heidi Klum (image above) wore an intensely accurate costume to her annual Halloween party. Ciatè London has also recently come out with a Jessica Rabbit inspired collection that makes getting this look even easier. Become the red-haired vixen for a night!

Cruella De Vil

1. Marni 2. Mac 3. Marni 4. Giuseppe Zanotti 5. Yves Saint Laurent 6. Rag & Bone 7. Christian Dior 8. Valentino

She isn’t that evil! Cruella De Vil is a costume that can be made super fashionable through varying black and white pieces and red lipstick. The more fur, the better with this look so add as many elements as you wish (like the Marni gloves and Christian Dior cape). If you bring your pet dog with you, even better!

Bride of Frankenstein

1. Marc Jacobs Beauty 2. Dries Van Noten 3. Alexander McQueen 4. 3.1 Phillip Lim 5. Lanvin 6. Emma Wallace

This horror classic is one of the most chic costume opportunities as all it needs is a white gown and some spooky make-up and hair. The layering that this 3.1 Phillip Lim top and Emma Wallace gown created dimension to the haunting look. Bold boots and accessories also make it appear like you just rose from a fabulous laboratory.
